Innovating the most efficient monetization platform for online advertising-and maximizing revenue for Web publishers-is paramount at the Rubicon Project. To keep our technology ahead of the pack, we've enlisted the best minds in the industry to advise us (we like to call them our very own "numerati"). Introducing the Rubicon Project's Optimization Advisory Board:
Currently CTO at MarkMonitor, Dr. Paul Dagum served as Chief Scientist and Strategy Officer of R. H. Donnelley Interactive/Business.com overseeing technology strategy, innovation, design and development of systems in information retrieval, pricing, auctions, yield management, search engine marketing and business intelligence.
Dr. Dagum was Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer at Rapt (NASDAQ: MSFT), an enterprise-software company for pricing and yield optimization. At Rapt, Paul managed all product development and led the algorithmic and technical innovations in Rapt╒s systems. Prior to Rapt, Paul was at Stanford University, where he was principal investigator (PI) on several NSF and NIH grants. As PI, he led investigations in probabilistic inference and decision optimization. Through his research, Paul developed the fastest known Monte-Carlo algorithm ╨ the most commonly used general method to solve large-scale problems. He has also made significant contributions in the areas of Bayesian networks, probability forecasting and control, and randomized algorithm design and analysis.
Dr. Dagum served as a scientist at Rockwell╒s decision theory laboratory in Palo Alto, and was a visiting scholar at the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley. Paul has over 60 peer-review publications in statistics, computer science and biotechnology journals. Paul received a Ph.D. in Theoretical Computer Science from the University of Toronto and an M.D. from Stanford University.
